Six Must-Have Items for Your Home

Underwater Weaving Studio’s Erin & Peggy Pollard share their favorite home decor

The mother-daughter duo behind Underwater Weaving Studio chose favorites from their own line, as well as a few must-haves of their own. Their kitchen and entertaining spaces reflect a lived-in elegance, where every object carries intention. They, and their small team, are devoted to heirloom-quality rattan work and the quiet preservation of this ancient craft. Their pieces bring warmth, story, and soul into the rustic modern home.

1. ASSISI CAKE STAND

Erin: “We’re a big cake family. For us, it’s more than just dessert—it’s about honoring tradition and marking moments. I think the kitchen should have its pieces that hold meaning, that elevate the everyday, and that can be passed down from one celebration to the next.”

2. BLUFF CITY

Peggy: “Erin’s husband’s company made these lights for our kitchen. I love how they feel industrial yet a bit fancy at the same time. We have several in a row over our island at the lake!”

3. SWEET ONION BASKET

Erin: “This will be my forever-favorite basket to make and share with others. I love stacking them in a mix of colors and sizes, each one a vessel for root vegetables that need room to breathe. It’s the kind of piece that feels both useful and quietly sculptural.”

4. SIMPLEX KINSINGTON TEA KETTLE

Peggy: “Don’t underestimate the importance of a good kettle. Newey & Bloomer are over 100 years old, and this one is not only charming but also time-tested. This mother approves.”

5. LOVE BASKET

Peggy: “I love the colors of these baskets because it reminds me of the walls of our farmhouse when I was young. They are a traditional shape from the Shaker Community. Such a no-fuss, special way to hold and share fruit, bread, or stack among potted herbs and ceramics.”

6. INGRID NAPKIN

Erin: “I often use our tea towels and napkins interchangeably around the kitchen, and many of them end up in the studio! But not these—Autumn Sonata takes archival prints and revives them into the most beautiful linens made in Portugal. They work to ensure a meal feels special solo at the counter or a dinner party. The Ingrid is my favorite because it can be used as a print or neutral.”
