Le Patin Libre: Grand Forme

Bundle up for a winter day like no other as Portland Ovations and Thompson’s Point welcome Le Patin Libre, Montreal’s internationally acclaimed troupe redefining what’s possible on ice. On Thompson’s Point Rink, 15 skaters move in sweeping flocks and formations inspired by patterns in nature—athletic, expressive, and full of surprise. Stripped of sequins and spectacle, Grand Forme is skating transformed into raw, contemporary performance. Fitting for all ages and an ideal way to warm your spirit on a brisk February afternoon.

Of Sibyls and Source: Ranges & Ruptures
February 5th – March 21st
Step into a world where myth and nature converge at this multidisciplinary exhibition exploring oracles, land, mapping, and geo-mythic space. Featuring videos, textiles, installations, and live performances, the show is a dialogue between Monti Sibillini National Park between the Marche and Umbria regions in Italy, and Acadia National Park, offering poetic reflections on connection, community, and place. Join the exhibition opening on February 5th, 5:30-7:30pm at the Crewe Center for the Arts at the University of Southern Maine’s Portland campus, featuring performances by Kristin Mariani and Firefly the Hybrid, with programming throughout the day including a durational outdoor piece by misael soto. Free and open to the public.
Maine Restaurant Week

Maine’s dining scene sparkles in early March with special menus and culinary experiences. Participating restaurants offer MRW specials, or a three-course prix fixe menu created for the celebration. And new to MRW, meet Maine farmers, foragers, bakers, and makers while sampling their standout products at the Flavors of Maine event on March 9th from 11 am-12:30 pm at Coffee By Design’s Diamond Street roastery.
