Gardens Aglow

Get ready for Gardens Aglow, a beloved holiday tradition where “the magic begins as darkness falls” at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Watch their beautiful gardens transform into a sea of festive light, and welcome the holiday season with open (but covered in your warmest mittens!) palms. Layer up, bring a hot cocoa in your favorite thermos, and get lost in a magical world of lights.

The Ecology School

The Association of Nature Center Administrators is hosting their annual Residential Environmental Learning Center (RELC) Summit at The Ecology School early in 2023. From January 1317, the Saco-based school will be hosting executive directors and leadership staff from outdoor schools across North America. Science, food, the environment, and sustainability will be the focuses of this summit. A large component of community gatherings is meals, and at this summit much of the food will be sourced from the onsite River Bend Farm. We are thrilled that people are turning toward Maine as a propagator of sustainable living, and we are looking forward to the outcome of this gathering of the minds

Maker's Market

If you are inspired by the content in our Movers & Makers issue, then you absolutely must attend the Maker’s Market at Thompson’s Point on December 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You might even see some of your favorite makers from our craftsmanship profiles there. Find special gifts for your loved ones to bring joy into their homes, or create your own hygge nest for winter with warm candles, ceramics, and textiles.
