OMG STFU

Adrian DeLucca
Words By Anna Mangum
Adrian’s mugs are sarcastic and humorous, allowing the beholder to contemplate the levity and seriousness of online, abbreviated culture.

Inspired by a lifelong love of rubber stamp art and collage, Adrian DeLucca recently brought this style of art to a new medium: ceramics. Equipped with an abundance of letterpress letters and characters from years of collecting, Adrian knew he wanted to create something meaningful with his stamped designs. His style is edgy and almost Orwellian, and he began to design social commentary mugs grappling with the rise of social media. Text speak is pervasive, and his mugs both embrace our changing world and wittily mock this new language at the same time. He laughs, “The shut the f**k up as soon as possible [appearing as STFU ASAP] is a popular Father’s Day gift.”

Adrian was a magazine photo editor in New York before turning to ceramics as a full-time medium.
Adrian recalls watching a reality TV show and hearing someone say: “Do I look like I give a f**k?” This phrase found its way to his DILLIGAF mug.
