Favorites at Decor Maine, Samantha Pappas’s designs remain delightful, and her repertoire seems to be expanding. “I pull so much from the outdoors,” she says. “Natural textures bring calm and peace to my spaces while pops of color and pattern keep the designs playful.”

In a dining nook in North Deering, note the deft selection of a round Huston & Company table meant to underscore curves in both the wallpaper pattern and a painting by Christopher David Ryan. “The Huston table perfectly balanced the modern aesthetic of the chairs,” Samantha says. “The space screamed for it.”

Natural textures also define an unexpected basement bathroom in Yarmouth. “I used wood-look tile, clay-colored wallpaper, and a wood vanity with leathered quartzite countertops,” Samantha says. Rich green sconces add a punch of color. “It’s a surprising space. It was fun to contrast this little room with the more neutral decor in the rest of the home.”
