Trust me: You need a garden cart. I can’t tell you how much I do with this cart—from garden chores to transporting packages across the property from my office to my home.
SHARP ACCESSORIES
I always carry a pair of scissors to do light pruning of my more delicate perennials and roses. Important tip: Occasionally bleach your tools to keep plant diseases at bay.

I use these willow tepee trellises for anything that climbs. Plus, they add a wooden element that, in an English-style garden like mine, is essential.
AN ELEVATED UTILITY BELT
A vest is another item I insist on. Here in Maine, even in the summer, evenings can cool off. This vest is ideal when I find myself needing a little extra core warmth.

For years, I searched for a butter dish that was appealing enough to be left out but wouldn’t break the bank. I worked with local ceramicist Aimee Mclaughlin to create these and am so happy with how they turned out.
