Additionally, we shine a spotlight on the talented artists, architects, makers, and creatives who shape and inspire Maine’s design landscape, and provide a roadmap for living beautifully in Maine.

We seamlessly integrate advertisements and brand partnerships with our exquisitely designed content, offering a continuous source of inspiration for our engaged, design-obsessed audience. 

Responsibilities

As a Sales Account Manager, your primary responsibility will be to drive revenue growth by providing comprehensive advertising solutions to our partners across various platforms. These include print, our website, social media channels, special sponsorships, and events. Your role will require strong sales skills, exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and internal team members.

  • Utilize your sales expertise to surpass revenue targets set for Decor Maine.
  • Identify and pursue exciting new business opportunities.
  • Engage in consultative discussions with clients to gain a deep understanding of their marketing objectives, enabling you to provide tailored advertising solutions.
  • Effectively present and sell advertising options across various platforms.
  • Foster and nurture strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction and encouraging continued partnerships.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with internal teams, including marketing, editorial, and creative, to develop compelling advertising proposals.
  • Skillfully negotiate pricing and contract terms, maximizing revenue while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Diligently track and report sales activities, revenue forecasts, and client interactions, leveraging CRM software to facilitate efficient operations.
  • Attend industry events to establish meaningful connections, expand networks, and generate promising leads.
  • Remain current on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging advertising opportunities, enabling you to identify and capitalize on new revenue streams.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the media or publishing industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • A strong relationship builder with a high EQ.
  • You have a win-win mindset and a supportive, collaborative approach with clients and internal teams.
  • Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events as required.

In addition to the above requirements, the following qualifications would be highly valued:

  • Experience with national brands.
  • Strong knowledge of the architecture and design industry, with existing relationships in the field.
