Shana Ready’s Must Haves

A RISD graduate and fashion designer shares her go-to items when traveling.

A graduate of RISD, Shana began her career as a fashion designer in New York City. She followed her design career back to her home state of Maine, where she founded THE ROPES, a nautical jewelry business that gained national brand awareness. Most recently, she has discovered a passion for painting. Shana believes that living along the coast of Maine is where her creativity flourishes: “I like showing people that inspiration can come from anywhere.”

Best Foot Forward

Time and time again, I find myself on a trip without the right footwear. I love wearing Golden Goose sneakers for a lived-in luxury look.*

Wrapped Up

Scarves are a great way to take an outfit from basic to a little more special and unique. My favorites are by Inoui Editions.

A Girl’s Best Friend

I love Yenden jewelry because it’s beachy, laid-back, and just beautifully simple.

From Day to Night

I always choose a dress that can transition from casual to a dinner date, the kind that can be easily worn with flip-flops or heels.

The Ultimate Tablescape

I’m always picking up napkins and tablecloths from my travels. They make great dinner party conversation starters, and I find it fun to mix and match all the colors and patterns.

A Timeless Staple

A classic white shirt can be worn during the day with leggings or polished up with jeans for a simple, pulled-together look—simply pair it with a great belt or statement jewelry.

Familiar Treasures

I’m a huge thrift store shopper! These bottles remind me of the sea glass I find along Maine’s shorelines.

*PRO TIP: I like shopping for shoes on The Real Real. Not only is it a way to get brand names for less, but an added bonus is that the shoes are already broken in for you! Just like that favorite pair of sneakers you’ve had in your closet for years. therealreal.com
